The remote starter does not activate when the Start button is pressed?
If the remote starter does not activate when the remote start button is pressed, the park lights will flash a diagnostic code. Count the park lights flashes and select the according FAQ question. or,
On some vehicles such as the Pontiac Grand Prix and the Ford Windstar the system will not flash the park lights when the start button is pressed. This will only occur if the system is programmed for Tachless Mode. Program Tach to solve this problem.

The park lights on the vehicle flash Slow 3 times when I press the Start button?
This indicates that the system is in Service Mode. Turn your ignition key to the on position then hold the button on the antenna for 8 seconds.

This diagnostic is applicable to manual transmission models only. The system has not been set into Reservation Mode

The park lights on the vehicle flash 5 times when I press the Start button?
This indicates that the hood pin switch is open or broken. The hood pin switch is a sensor that detects when the hood is opened. Have your dealer inspect this switch. Make sure you are pressing the start button (star).

This indicates that the ignition key is in the on position. The key must be off when making a remote start attempt. Make sure you are pressing the start button (star).

The park lights on the vehicle flash 6 times when I press the Start button?
This indicates that the brake switch input of the remote starter is detective voltage. This may happen if a taillight bulb is replaced with the incorrect bulb. Have your dealer inspect the brake switch connection.

The park lights on the vehicle flash 7 times when I press the Start button?

This indicates that the remote starter has not yet been programmed for remote start or that the remote starter has tried to start the engine and did not recognize the tach signal. Reset the system and relearn the tach.

The LED's do not turn on when Tach Learning?
1) The Tach wire input may be connected to the wrong wire. Check the Tach location and connection then "reset and relearn".
2) The system may be in Tachless Mode. On TL models the Tach wire connection is optional and the LED's do not turn on during the 35 second learn procedure.

The LED's on the antenna turn on but the system will not Tach Learn?
Check the ignition connection. The ignition input should not turn off during the start/ crank position if it does you have the incorrect wire. If the ignition connection is correct, try putting a temporary jumper between 12volts and the ignition input then start the vehicle for Tach Learn. Check your ground connection if issues persist.

The starter motor stays engaged to long when remote started?
Reset then relearn the Tach with the transmission in reverse. If the vehicle is tach learned when the idle is high the starter motor may "drag". Check your ground connection if issues persist.

The starter motor does not stay engaged long enough?
Connect the Tach wire then reset and relearn the system. Check factory security bypass as well as the system ground.

The module makes a buzzing sound when I plug it in?
This is an indication that the ground is poor, check your ground connection as well as the crimp terminal. Try a temporary jumper to the ground pin to determine in the actual wire is not "broken" within the casing.

When I press start the park light flash once then twice but the vehicle does not start?
This issue is caused when a dual filament brake light bulb is replaced with a single  Filament bulb. This creates a short between the brake and park lights circuits. Test the brake switch input then turn the park light switch on to see if the voltage is looping between the circuits.

When I unlock the doors the windows roll down?
This issue is caused by the length of the unlock pulse. To correct this issue program the system for short door lock pulses. (125ms)

The shock sensor is set to sensitive. How do I adjust it?
The shock sensor is remote programmable on all all Ultra Start systems with the exception of the 430/440 series. Click here for Shock Sensor Programming.

The alarm activates 30-45 minutes after setting it?
To prevent the vehicles battery from going dead the computer will "hibernate" like your home computer might. In some vehicles this causes the door pin input to change state. The alarm detects the change of state and activates.  A relay must be installed to isolated the door pin circuit from the alarm.
